Prompting for the fest will only begin on the 2nd of November. And once all the prompts are in, I'll put up a prompt post. Claiming opens on the 20th of November. That is when you will get to see the list of prompts and choose the one you like.

Hey everyone! I'm absolutely brand new to the world of fanfic fests/exchanges, but I've been wanting to participate for a long time. I'm a long-term lurker and have read great fics that came out of fests, but somehow I could never participate because I just cant figure out how it all works (also livejournal is scary). Would someone be kind enough to walk me through this? Where do you post a prompt when the prompt date opens? In this very thread, or is there some other assigned space? And how do you politely claim a prompt? Also how do people usually find betas, because I would like one? I don't have any fandom friends because I'm shy and so far I've been content to read fic from a distance, but I would really love to participate in this one, so... please help me out :)

Hi. I understand what you mean when you say that LJ is scary. It is. But it is possible to figure it out. I have been where you are...I only signed up for my first fest seven months ago. I've written for two others since and I have another three that I am working on. It is not as difficult as it looks. I'll take you through it.

Prompting for this fest will begin on the 2nd of November. On that day I will put up a prompting post with a template for you to use. You copy paste that template into a comment, fill in the details and post it as a regular comment.

Once all the prompts are in, I will put up a claiming post on the 20th of November with a link to the list of prompts. All the prompts will have a number. You look through the prompts, decide which one you want and you send an email to the email id that will be provided in the claiming post with your lj name and the number of the prompt that you want to write. You have to specify three prompts in order of preference.

I'll send you a reply telling you which of the three prompts you will be writing for. Claiming happens on a first come first served basis. Then you get writing and you, ideally, finish writing by the due date (8th Feb, 2014) and send me your story in an email as a word attachment. And then you sit back and relax while I do the rest:-)

Getting an AO3 id might be a good idea because I will be posting all of the fics there as well. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions. This is my id as the moderator of this fest. But otherwise I'm slowroad. You can look for me and friend me if you wish. I'll help you with anything you need.

I have a question. Where do you stand on OC kids? Are they accepted?

Or do the stories feat children specifically have to be the next gen 4 and/or Teddy?

OC kids are fine. In fact, they'll make the fest more fun.

I'm very interested in signing in for this, but that would be my very first fest, so I'm also a bit nervous...
Anyway, hope I won't be sleeping when claiming begins and that I'll be able to participate! :)

If you're sure that you don't feel drawn to any of the prompts, you can go ahead and write your own. You could make it a gift to the community.

Oh, I haven't checked all the prompts so I wont discard the possibility of finding one. However, I wanted to know just in case I couldn't find one :D
